DALLAS, Jun 1, 2009 / FW/ — In another fashion coup for Target, the trendy retailer is partnering with designer Carlos Falchi to launch a limited-edition handbag collection, Carlos Falchi for Target that will be available at most Target stores and www.target.com from Nov 1 – Dec 27, 2009, just in time for the holiday shopping season.

This collection is the eighth handbag launch in a series of limited-time-only accessories designers at Target.

A native of Brazil, Carlos Falchi moved to New York in 1964 and began working as a night manager at the legendary rock & roll hangout Max’s Kansas City. That gig afforded him access to the elite underground, the purveyor of fashion during those days.

He began his fashion career designing costumes for Miles Davis, Mick Jagger, Elvis Presley and Tina Turner, but it was the satchel that carried his samples that caught the eye of Henri Bendel. Thus, the Carlos Falchi accessories collection was born.

Among his legions of fans are the “ladies” and “It Girls” that include the late Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, Tina Turner, Madonna, Cher, Nancy Reagan, Sienna Miller, Jessica Simpson and Eva Longoria.
