NEW YORK, Aug 19, 2009 / FW/ — As the Fall collections arrive on the sales floor, Calvin Klein opens its first women’s Calvin Klein Collection shop at Saks Fifth Avenue in the retailer’s flagship store here in New York.

In an invitation-only cocktail party on Thursday, August 20th, Francisco Costa, Womenswear Creative Director for Calvin Klein Collection will inaugurate the new selling space together with the evening co-hosts – Alexa Chung, Elettra Weidemann, Jessica Joffe, Kathryn Neale, and Lauren Santo Domingo.

Located in the Designer Sportswear section on the 2nd Floor, the new 900-square-feet women’s Calvin Klein Collection shop is an ultra-modern store-within-a-store concept.

Conceived by Calvin Klein, Inc.’s in-house retail design team, who worked closely with Mr. Costa on the design, the shop features an all-white environment that makes possible an unobtrusive backdrop for the women’s runway looks, which will be displayed in custom ceiling suspensions.

The shop interior includes a range of shades and textures in white – including an all-white glass floor, mirror polished stainless steel rods, and a custom day bed from the Calvin Klein Home furniture offering.

In advance of the event, the women’s Calvin Klein Collection will also be prominently displayed in the Fifth Avenue windows at the department store.
