Monique Lhuillier Spring 2010NEW YORK, Sep 10, 2009 / FW/ — At 20 Rock, better known as Christie’s, Monique Lhuillier who is currently pregnant with child, with her impeccable understanding of fashion and what women want to wear, she has, yet again, created a collection to be reckoned with.

Arguably one of the most visionary designers in the industry today, Monique Lhuillier drew inspiration from the intricate draping of the Masai Warriors and thus, her Spring/Summer collection was bold, sophisticated, and beautiful.

Using silk jersey and fringe, she was able to intertwine the two to create lightweight, elegant and easy to wear pieces.

Her collection was presented at Christie’s in Rockefeller Center, just the perfect corner room to accentuate the luxuriousness of her Spring/Summer pieces.

The palette of her collection included a rich sunflower yellow, rust, toffee, black, lagoon blue and a bold leopard print, all accentuated by beautiful, large gemstone jewelry and topped often with fedora hats.

The jewelry, by Monique Péan, perfectly complimented the soft draping of the dresses by adding large, rough-cut gems set on exaggerated chains.

Lhuillier was on trend this season with her use of asymmetric pin-tuck details, one-shoulder dresses, exaggerated sleeves and metallic accents. Her use of beading, braiding, and fringe was breathtaking. Her vision was clearly delivered in this sophisticated and intricate collection.
