MADRID, Oct 10, 2009 / FW/ — A high-concept collection that featured models wearing masks with wooden noses and headdresses with white doves and balls that say “I didn’t choose to be born,” Amai Rodriguez talks of the youth’s preoccupation with trying to escape reality.
Tied-dyed fabrics and an eclectic mix of materials, the theatrical viewpoint of Amai Rodriguez pulls the audience’s attention to the bright colors seen on the leggings and layered skirts.
A native of Poio (Pontevedra), Amai Rodríguez Coladas studied at the University of Vigo School of Fine Arts. She then continued her studies at the in Design and Fashion of Galicia (ESDEMGA).
On January 31, 2008, she debuted at the Cibeles Ego fashion show with that collection, which she later showed at the contest ITS FASHION 7 in Trieste, Italy, and at the Modorrra Trans fashion show in Bilbao.
