NEW YORK, Oct 7, 2009 / FW/ — Even with Paris Fashion Week in high gear, cameras are clicking on our side of the pond and found Malin Akerman, Kelly Rutherford and Perrey Reeves as subjects.
Malin Akerman made a splash on the red carpet last night wearing iconic costume jewelry designer, Miriam Haskell.
Malin wore a silver and pearl tassel necklace, the second time she has chosen to wear the brand this week, this time to the Chicago, IL premier of her film ‘Couples Retreat’ on October 6th, 2009.
In the resurgence of costume jewelry on the red carpet, Miriam Haskell stands above and beyond since its launch in 1924 by designer Miriam Haskell. Miriam Haskell jewelry has always been known for the intricate detailing of their designs and for its use of elaborate filigree and careful wiring.
Miriam Haskell was a premier American fashion jewelry house for the better part of the 20th century. The company was sold to Frank Fialkoff in 1990 and is still producing today with Miriam’s own distinctive aesthetic. The collection is still handmade in New York City. The pieces range in price from $500 to $2000 and can be found at such stores as Nordstrom, Fred Segal and Henri Bendel and Stanley Korshak, to name a few.
Back here in New York, Kelly Rutherford and Perrey Reeves were spotted shopping at Martin +Osa. The stars of “Gossip Girl” and “Entourage”, respectively are fans of Martin + Osa cardigans.
Perrey Reeves recently picked up two M+O cardigans because she loves them for travel between Costa Rica and her work in New York and Los Angeles.
“They easily take me from lush and rustic to a sophisticated metropolitan city, and in colors and patterns, they help me out of my black/grey clothing rut!” commented Perrey Reeves.
Available in more than 20 colors and patterns for under $100, they are the perfect transitional piece, keeping these busy celebrities looking chic whether they are switching seasons or time zones.
