JAKARTA, Nov 14, 2009 / FW/ — Earlier today at Pacific Place Mall’s Fashion Tent, Governor of DKI Jakarta, Fauzi Bowo officially opened Jakarta Fashion Week as the city hosts 60 of Indonesia’s top designers.
Considered the definitive fashion event in Indonesia, Jakarta Fashion Week highlights the talents and creativity of Indonesia’s fashion industry. This event takes place in collaboration with the municipality of DKI Jakarta, fashion stakeholders and the media.
The cultural exchange feature between Indonesia and India as well as the Young Fashion Designer Awards (LPM) segment express JFW 09/10’s efforts to consolidate Jakarta as one of the world’s notable fashion capitals. JFW 09/10 is organized by Azura Activation, an extension of Femina Group.
Last year, Fashion TV provided coverage of the event alongside 203 other local and international press agencies in the U.S, Europe, Australia and of course, Asia. Fashion TV coverage consequently puts JFW on equal stature as New York, London, Milan, Paris and Tokyo Fashion Week.
