The shoulders are still the most recognizable feature, but this season, Vauthier introduces the collar and the bracelet, which though technically are costume jewelry but in actuality part of the total look.
In dressing the ladies from day to night, Alexandre Vauthier chose a very narrow color palette – black, red, green and blue. And with a very minimal use of adornments, the spotlight continues to be on the silhouette, which in turn makes the woman who wears it the true star.
This is only Alexandre Vauthier’s third collection under his eponymous label, yet he is already seen on both sides of the Atlantic. Rihanna is turning out to be a big fan as she chose to wear one of Vauthier’s creations in her latest album cover. The Grammy-Award winning singer also performed on X-Factor wearing a dress from Alexandre Vauthier’s Fall 2009 collection.
In New York, while promoting Inglorious Basterds, French actress Melanie Laurent also chose to wear an Alexandre Vauthier’s dress.
