MILAN, Jan 19, 2010 / FW/ — We had been so used seeing rock & roll and avant-garde from Gucci that seeing sensible dressing that would even be accepted inside the Washington beltway was a complete surprise! (gasp!)

But, if you look back far enough, you will see that Gucci used to be the go to label for sensible dressing, which was confirmed by what Frida Giannini, the label’s Creative Director told the press after the show.

“I don’t think it is a nostalgic collection, but heritage is good for me — going back to the archives, but looking forward to the future,” the designer Frida Giannini told the New York Times.

Nostalgic, heritage, or looking forward to the future, this collection is good and quite frankly, a great one from Frida Giannini.
