LAS VEGAS, Jan 5, 2010 / FW/ — An original homesteader at the newly opened Crystals in Las Vegas, Marni is among the star studded shopping venue that includes the world’s most popular labels, from Louis Vuitton, Christian Dior, Emilio Pucci, Versace and Gucci among others.
Part of the 500,000 square foot indoor / outdoor shopping venue at CityCenter’s Crystals, the new 800 square-foot Marni boutique is encased by a minimalistic glass façade that gives an unobstructed view of the store.
The “lasso,” an interior design element that dominates the sales floor is the perfect stage for the Marni collection. Seemingly suspending the ready-to-wear in midair, the “lasso” encircles the boutique, defines its perimeter and then leads to a fiberglass shoe display.
Conceived by Consuelo Castiglioni and executed by the architecture firm Sybarite, the simple, yet elegant setting is unexpected and captivating, presenting the Marni ready-to-wear and accessories collections in a new way.
Smooth, grey-painted curved walls have been given a randomly convex and concave “bubble” relief pattern; backlit, they create shadows and a playful graphic composition of textures while occasionally showcasing accessories.
Mannequins made of raw fiberglass in addition to those with a new, opalescent, purple lacquer finish are dressed in the Marni ready-to-wear suspended throughout the boutique’s interior.
