NEW YORK, Aug 9, 2010 / — On the heels of the beautiful Chelsea Clinton wedding this past weekend, the winners of the CAROLEE and The Knot Dream Wedding Contest were married in New York City at the Emprire Hotel.
Leading fashion company CAROLEE and The Knot magazine hosted an online contest through TheKnot.com to win a wedding valued at $40,000. The winning couple was Danielle Myers and Isaac Ward of Fort Washington, MD.
Danielle and Isaac met in April of 2007 at a physical rehabilitation facility where Danielle was a nurse and Isaac was a patient. After a spinal cord injury during an armed robbery left Isaac paralyzed, he entered the facility and formed a close friendship with Danielle, which developed into a loving relationship in 2008 once he returned home.
Shortly after New Year’s Eve 2010, Isaac asked Danielle to marry him. In February 2010, Isaac, wanting to give Danielle the perfect wedding, entered the couple in the Carolee Dream Wedding Contest on TheKnot.com.
Once the couple became one of the top 5 finalists judged by a panel of bridal experts, Isaac surprised Danielle with the news that he had entered the contest. They received over 2,700 votes from brides on TheKnot.com who fell in love with their story, and learned that they won their dream wedding in March.
The grand prize consists of: a consultation with celebrity wedding planner Bronson Van Wyck of Van Wyck & Van Wyck; a wedding reception at the Empire Hotel in Manhattan; designer bridesmaids gowns from Amsale; Carolee jewelry for the entire bridal party; bridal hairstyling and makeup from Bumble and Bumble and Bobbi Brown through Bloomingdale’s; flowers for the bridal party by Florisan; wedding photographer and videographer by Dream Life Wedding; tabletop appliances from KitchenAid and china from Wedgwood through Bloomingdale’s Bridal Registry; and a honeymoon at Couples Resorts in Jamaica. Others supporting the event include Gotham Liquors, All About You Event Planning, and Todaro’s Exquisite Cake bakery. The prize wedding will be featured in a two-page editorial in the winter issue of The Knot magazine.
“We are thrilled for Danielle and Isaac,” said Karen O’Brien, Carolee’s Vice President of Worldwide Marketing. “Carolee has always been a destination for the bride and her wedding party, and Danielle and her bridesmaids were so excited about choosing their jewelry for the wedding. We loved working with Bloomingdale’s, TheKnot.com, and other leaders in the bridal world to create this dream experience for one lucky couple!”
