Brioni

ROME, Nov 9, 2010 / — Brioni Roman Style has named Francesco Pesci as its new Chief Executive, effective immediately. Mr. Pesci assumes the management position in the Italian luxury brand following the resignation of Andrea Perrone this past July.

Mr. Pesci was born in Rome in 1967. After earning a degree in Economics and Business Administration from Luiss Guido Carli University, he began his career at Colgate-Palmolive before joining Brioni in 1994.

“I am honored to be taking up the reins at Brioni,” said Mr. Pesci of his appointment, “a company in which I have literally worked my way up from the bottom. I would like to thank the company for the trust they have placed in me and to confirm to the Group and its employees my determination to strengthen a global luxury brand that is the pride of Italian menswear.”

During his tenure at Brioni, Mr. Pesci has assumed several positions in the company’s development, including roles as the Director of Sales and as an advisor for the brand’s distribution strategy. He later moved to Japan to develop Brioni’s Asian and Middle East strategies, leading to some of the brand’s fastest growing operations. In 2004, he joined the luxury jeweler Damiani to oversee the Asia markets, serving as the CEO of Damiani Japan.

Mr. Pesci returned to Brioni in 2007. As the Commercial Director of the Brioni Group, he contributed to the worldwide expansion of Brioni retail, which has included recent openings in Barcelona, St. Petersburg, Tokyo, Beijing, Shanghai and Mexico City.

“I remain personally committed to the continued growth of the Brioni brand and to our loyal international customers and partners around the world,” said Mr. Pesci. “I especially look forward to further developing our commitment to the United States, which remains our largest single market.”
