PARIS, Jan 25, 2011 / FW/ — Taking inspiration from nature and the concept of escape, Y-3 proposes blazers, trench coats, parkas, and high boots in tones of army green for Fall 2011.
And just to make things very interesting, there are also explosions of riotous Japanese print, captured on soft bomber jackets and button-down shirts, worn with knitted leggings or slouchy, sarouel-style sweatpants.
Must-have accessories include the highly covetable printed sneakers, white Chelsea ankle boots, and wool trapper hats.
Unveiling its menswear collection in Paris as of its 10-year anniversary celebration, the Y-3 presentation also included an installation of greatest footwear hits from the leader of Japan’s avant-garde and the forerunners of sport-style.
The installation served as a reminder of the breakthrough concepts brought to reality by Yamamoto and adidas—as well as a symbol of much more to come.
