LOS ANGELES, Nov 2, 2011/ FW/ — The famous Robertson Blvd in the heart of Los Angeles has a new tenant – Rebecca Taylor. As part of her retail expansion, the famed New York-based designer will open her first Los Angeles boutique.
Located at 107 South Robertson Blvd, the new Rebecca Taylor outpost is her free-standing store. Measuring 1,800 square feet, the new boutique will feature the full Rebecca Taylor assortment including accessories, limited-edition collaborations and interesting finds curated by the designer herself.
Continuing the celebration of the brands 15th year anniversary and launching with the west coast flagship, retail partnerships exclusive to the RT stores include Cosabella (undergarments), Chan Luu (Scarves), Claeson (T-shirts), and Vale (jewelry).
The new store design is in keeping with the brand’s ethereal yet bold aesthetic and is built around a soft, feminine color palette that contrasts modern materials like cast-resin in nude tones and muted metallics. The designer herself was hands on in selecting every component of the store from the sparkle concrete floors, custom shag rugs and seating in distressed gold leather to the slatted wood cabinetry and mixed metals in burnished rose gold finishes.
The architecture fuses timeless elements with modernism to produce a contemporary look that is fresh yet always feminine and beautiful. The walls and fixtures undulate in a series of soft curves that break from the traditional rectangular retail store and create a visually exciting space.
To celebrate the opening of its first west coast flagship store, Rebecca Taylor will be partnering up with some of the loyal Rebecca Taylor celeb fans to craft one-of-a-kind tote bags which will be silent auctioned off on site with 100% of the auction’s proceeds benefitting Dress for Success Worldwide-West.
Celebrities to participate include Rashida Jones, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Selena Gomez, Jessica Alba and Kristen Bell to name a few.
In conjunction with the LA launch, Rebecca Taylor also announces the opening of her first location in Orange County at Fashion Island Mall, joining the renowned shopping district with a 1,750 sq. ft. retail space at 567 Newport Center Drive. The store offers an extraordinary shopping experience, including private appointment selling and personalized customer service. The new retail location will bow in late Fall of 2011.
