NEW YORK, May 13, 2013/ — Calvin Klein Collection and Euphoria Calvin Klein together with IFP (Independent Filmmaker Project) will hold their third annual event celebrating women in film at L’Écrin on Thursday, May 16th at the 66th Cannes Film Festival.
The invitation-only event, hosted by Joana Vicente, Executive Director of IFP, and Francisco Costa, Women’s Creative Director of Calvin Klein Collection, will recognize notable women who have made an impact on film. This year’s event will celebrate Nicole Kidman, Rooney Mara, Carey Mulligan, Naomie Harris and Lynne Ramsay.
Last year those celebrated included Diane Kruger, Naomi Watts, Jessica Chastain, Ludivine Sagnier and Shailene Woodley. Also in attendance at the event were Alec Baldwin and Hilaria Thomas, Jada Pinkett Smith, Ben Stiller, Chris Rock, David Schwimmer, Joshua Jackson, Isla Fisher, Melissa George, Inès de La Fressange, Astrid Muñoz, Lara Stone and David Walliams, Carmen Chaplin, Dolores Chaplin, Hayley Atwell, Du Juan and Vahina Giocante.
The exclusive event continues the partnership between IFP and euphoria Calvin Klein to support women in independent film with the euphoria Calvin Klein Spotlight on Women Filmmakers “Live the Dream” grant. The second annual award for an alumnus of IFP’s Independent Filmmaker Labs was presented during the Gotham Independent Film Awards in November 2012 to Stacie Passon, the director of Concussion.
