MIAMI, July 30, 2013/ FW/ — Entitled ‘Mara Hoffman Resort 2014 Collection’, the renowned designer, Mara Hoffman showcased her Resort 2014 collection at The Raleigh Hotel during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim.
Hoffman explains, “This collection called Shakti was inspired by the mythology and mysticism of India, shown through vivid colors and prints. If I had to pick one word to describe the collection, it would be “Shakti.”
Hoffman’s Resort 2014 collection consisted of a variety of detailed pieces infused with psychedelic prints inspired by the ancient spiritual figure representing creativity, knowledge and the removal of obstacles.
Standout swimwear looks in the collection included a string bikini with Brazilian cut bottoms and a basket weave bikini designed in cosmic-inspired prints, lace-up back cut-out and strappy bustier one pieces, as well as laser cut swimwear pieces, including a high-waisted bikini with a bandeau top featured in hues of lagoon and black.
The Mara Hoffman Resort 2014 collection also included bold, embellished maxi dresses detailed with intricate mirror embroidery along with vibrant patterned cover-ups, rompers, and a surfing rash guard that came in prints such as a kaleidoscopic bird print and a sunset print shown in hues of pink and violet.
Hoffman also unveiled a limited edition capsule collection of accessories that were designed in collaboration with the e-commerce site, L-atitude. This collection included neon, embellished accessories such as an Indian tribal Thakur Spike Bracelet and Bandaru Necklaces available in hues of black, magenta, and lime. The Mara Hoffman x L-atitude collection will be available for purchase after November 15th on www.shoplatitude.com.
Alongside presenting her Resort 2014 collection, Hoffman was also thrilled to receive the prestigious “Mercedes-Benz Presents” title earlier this month. To celebrate the program, she designed a one-of-a-kind Mara Hoffman print wrapped E-Class Cabriolet, which was on display during Mercedes-Benz Swim Week.
