NEW YORK, Jun 19, 2014/— Wow!!! It’s great to reconnect with Alice Roi. The last time I saw her was at Bryant Park when New York Fashion Week catwalk shows was still being held there.
And then of course, she took a 5 year hiatus. I’m so glad to see her again, albeit via her new collection which is inspired by nostalgic, basic silhouettes and a romanticized fantasy of quiet Amish culture.
Alice took familiar, minimalist shapes and contrasted them with a strong folk influence, bringing an interesting play of hard and soft elements in her Resort collection.
Key pieces include a bone white leather prairie dress, a printed wrap dress, and a flared check studded dress.
