Titled “Built from Scratch,” the Nicholas K Fall 2017 collection was inspired by the 1990s communal diversity and unity. The decade being also the golden age of hip-hop, influences from this subculture were also seen in the collection.

With black and beige as the color de rigueur, burnt orange and gold were interspersed for drama and variety. While you can see the street influences, the silhouettes are sharp and very polished, thus belying any street creds that has been gained. Think of the Grammys instead of the VMAs.
