On January 26 at 8 p.m. Casey Cadwallader will unveil Mugler‘s new collection with what promises to be a unique and unmissable event. After a long stop due to the pandemic in which he preferred to present his creations with a series of fashion films, the brand has decided to return to the catwalk at the tail end of Paris Haute Couture Week, which this season will be held Jan. 23-26. The location? La Villette, a vast new cultural complex in the northeastern area of the French capital, home to an immense park and the City of Science. Pascal Conte-Jodra, managing director of Mugler’s fashion division, anticipated that the see now, buy now Fall 2023 collection will consist of winter items and more spring pieces, as well as some new product categories that are still top secret. He also specified that “this is not a classic return to the catwalk,” but rather a show tied to a “new concept” and designed to “immersive experience across all channels, and in front of a live audience.”

“We learned how to entertain, we learned how to surprise, we learned how to get attention and to please our audience… At Mugler, we take risks.” Conte-Jodra continues, pointing out how telling the collections with the short movie format, real virtual shows loaded with special effects, with cameos by the likes of Megan Thee Stallion, Chloë Sevigny, Hunter Schafer and Shalom Harlow, had several effects on the brand and its future evolution. The first and immediate one was a much broader community involvement that led to viral success and the conquest of Gen Z and a new audience. The second was bringing Cadwallader to understand that the next step was to return to the catwalk, but with a special, engaging, spectacular project of “completely different scope than what we have done in the past,”capable of engaging a wide audience, because “Mugler has always been a popular brand and we didn’t want to keep the show only for the happy few.” The event scheduled for Jan. 26 at La Villette will certainly be one not to be missed.
