NEW YORK, Jan 17, 2008 / FW/ — Saks Fifth Avenue blurs the line between a ‘need’ and a ‘want’ with its very successful “Want It!” campaign that returns beginning March 13 featuring the Spring 2008 fashion must-have.
For Spring 2008, Saks Fifth Avenue recommends: bangles, chic shoulder bag, florals, luminous face, maxi dress, slide, tunic and vibrant color for HER. And for HIM, it is contrast collar and cuffs, hoodie, light grey suits, nylon and suitable supplements.
To illustrate the season’s most vital trends for men and women, Saks Fifth Avenue has commission renowned Dutch artist Piet Paris to depict these items as works of art. For the campaign, Paris created illustrations-composed of spray paint, collage, watercolor and more-will appear in Saks catalogs, on shopping bags and in all Saks stores nationwide.
“The artwork perfectly captures the radiant colors and the modern, cosmopolitan energy that are the essence of the Spring 2008 season at Saks,” adds Terron Schaeffer, Group Senior Vice President, Creative and Marketing, Saks Fifth Avenue.
The illustrations feature the Want It! trends as well as clothing resembling a series of New York landmarks: the Chrysler Building, the Guggenheim, the New York Stock Exchange.
“Want It!” is the culmination of a months-long process, during which the Saks Fifth Avenue merchant and fashion teams identify the season’s most notable trends and work with the world’s top designers to bring those trends to Saks Fifth Avenue in extraordinary depth.
The result is a nationwide celebration of those trends, each available in an unprecedented range: from accessible to cutting-edge and everything in between.
