DALLAS, Aug 31, 2008 / FW/ — Bryant Park might be Mercedes-Benz’s milieu for fashion, but at Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, Lexus rules the runway with The Lexus Fashion Preview featuring the next generation of young American design talent.

Held on Friday, August 15, 2008 during the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance car show, The Lexus Fashion Preview was hosted by Vogue’s Fashion News/Features Director, Sally Singer.

Featuring the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund finalists: Richard Chai, Jason Wu, Alexander Wang, Irene Neuwirth, Albertus Q. Swanepoel of Albertus Quartus, Alejandro Ingelmo, Juan Carlos Obando, Swaim and Christina Hutson of Obedient Sons & Daughters, John Patrick of Organic, Sophie Buhai and Lisa Mayock of Vena Cava, the show revealed the collections submitted for the competition.

The 10 finalists compete for the top prize of $200,000 and the opportunity to be mentored by the industry’s top designers and executives.

The couture collections shared the spotlight with Lexus’ sleekest automobiles, including the LF-A Roadster concept vehicle, the latest expression of preeminent design from the automaker, and the Pebble Beach Collection, special edition vehicles that commemorate the brand’s partnership with the Pebble Beach Resorts.

“The Lexus Fashion Preview is a convergence of innovation and style which brings out the best in both Lexus and Vogue,” said David Nordstrom, vice president of marketing for Lexus.

In addition to the opportunity to get an up-close look at the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund finalists’ collections, attendees were treated to a public viewing of the Lexus LF-A Roadster. This exciting concept car fuses dominant power and precise design, making it a worthy addition to Lexus’ portfolio of innovative vehicles.
