MILAN, Sep 27, 2008 / FW/ — Born in Salento, in the southern part of Italy in 1973, Alexsandro Palombo moved to Milan in 1991 to study at the Marangoni fashion school. After graduation, he worked as freelance designer as well as illustrator consultant for some of the most prominent fashion houses in Milan, Paris and Hong Kong.
Feeling ready to strike out on his own in 1998, Alexsandro Palombo launched his own label. Using shapes, colors and materials, he morphed fashion and art, interweaving them to portray dreams and social transformations.
Leaning toward high concept design, Palombo’s creations included mysticism and provocation as main ingredients. Add sensuality to the mix, his creations consistently provoked thoughts and debates.
Combining traditional craftsmanship of southern Italy with his own creative intuition, Palombo is oftentimes entertaining, perturbing and exhilarating in the way he sees fashion.
