DALLAS, Nov 28, 2008 / FW/ — Celebrating the 50th anniversary of the PEACE sign, Barneys New York featured the iconoclastic symbol that defined a generation in its store windows for the 2008 holidays.
It even gave a short history of the PEACE sign, which said:
The PEACE sign first appeared in 1958. Originally designed as the emblem for the British Nuclear Disarmament Movement, it soon spread to America, where it was put to use by anti-war activists. Before it was a dozen years old, the PEACE sign had become the international symbol for PEACE, LOVE & COUNTERCULTURE VALUES.
