DALLAS, Dec 4, 2008 / FW/ — It’s hard to believe that Ashleigh Verrier graduated from Parsons School of Design just in 2004; that within four years, she is fast becoming a household name and a favorite among the stylish and social sets in both coasts.
Named Parsons’ ‘Designer of the Year’ on her graduation, Verrier’s entire senior thesis collection was purchased by Saks Fifth Avenue, and placed it alongside such high-end fashion labels as Balenciaga, Marc Jacobs, Chloe, and Marni in an unprecedented show of industry support.
Classical yet individualistic, Verrier’s silhouettes are coolly glamorous yet uncomplicated. This unique vision landed her a grant from the UPS Delivers Fashion’s Future Award, which enabled her to showcase her Spring 2007 collection in the tents at Bryant Park in September 2006.
And that just brought Verrier in the limelight, with the Hollywood A-list becoming her supporters – actors Courtney Cox, Rachel Bilson, and Kristin Bell, pop artists Jessica Simpson and Mandy Moore, and stylists Mary Alice Stephenson and Kate Young.
Most recently, Verrier signed a significant three-year agreement to exclusively license her designs to the Japanese market as a high-end fashion and lifestyle brand, manufacturing women’s apparel and accessories starting in the Spring 2008 sales season.
As a result, Verrier continues to grow with each collection, achieving a strong international—as well as national— presence.
