NEW YORK, Jan 6, 2009 / FW/ — Now on its 8th year, Ecco Domani Fashion Foundation named Cushnie et Ochs, Lyn Devon, Matthew Ames, Ohne Titel, Corpus (menswear), Monique Péan (accessories), and Bodkin Brooklyn (the first recipient of the Sustainable Design category) for its Batch 2009 winners of $25,000 fashion grant per designer.

Selected from over 150 applicants wherein to be qualified, designers should have at least one retail account and has been in business less than five years, the winners come a cross section of promising emerging designers.

Women category winners Carly Cushnie and Michelle Ochs of Cushnie et Ochs, Lyn Devon, Matthew Ames and Alexa Adams and Flora Gill of Ohne Titel are known for their unique vision of fashion.

Design duo Jerrod Cornish and Keith Richardson for Corpus is known for their signature streetwear influence on menswear while Monique Pean’s sophisticated jewelry designs caught the eye of the judges.

For the first time ever, Ecco Domani also the Sustainable Design category was on the roster and Bodkin Brooklyn, designed by Samantha Pleet and Eviana Hartman, the founding columnist of The Washington Post’s EcoWise column and former fashion features editor at Nylon won the award.
