Petar Petrov Menswear Fall 2009

PARIS, Jan 26, 2009 / FW/ — “Toto, we’re not in Kansas anymore.” A stark venue, a yellow line and no Dorothy, Petar Petrov’s vision is elegantly modernistic. Skinny pants and loose fitting jackets, sweaters and blousons are proposed in familiar yet futuristic in their minimalist silhouettes.

Cotton and cashmere lend their warmth to the high-tech synthetics that were incorporated in the collection for function and aesthetics. Case in point – lightweight neoprene was used in the sportive running suit that was matched with a pullover made of cashmere and neoprene.

But, texture and material are just half of the story. Playing with color, Petar Petrov offered colors on a gray scale – from very light to black. Combining this with degradé of yellow and pink in neon shades also added softness thus counteracting the austerity of the silhouettes.
