Roberto Cavalli Menswear Fall 2009
Roberto Cavalli Menswear Fall 2009

MILAN, Jan 20, 2009 / FW/ — Just before the start of the menswear season, Roberto Cavalli hit the financial news headlines with the report that the Florentine designer has agreed to sell from 15 – 20% stake of his maison to private equity firm Clessidra.

Whether that deal will go through or not seem to be unimportant during the Roberto Cavalli Menswear Fall 2009 catwalk show. The designer proposed a rock & roll cum biker inspired collection that featured leather and fur.

Fur was proposed in the newly tempered Roberto Cavalli exuberance, which in the light of the current economic situation showed a sensitivity that should be admired. Knits were done in different textures, while leather was given the obligatory grommets and studs.

Even with the inconspicuous approach, this was signature Roberto Cavalli, something that his fans have come to expect from the Italian designer.
