NEW YORK, May 17, 2009 / FW/ — A store is no longer just a store; it is a meeting place, a scene to be seen and Cole Haan’s Columbus Circle location here in New York just became the hippest place to be Thursday night when Angel Taylor performed a 30-minute acoustic set.

Named by the New York Post as one of “Six Who’ll Sizzle” in 2009, Angel Taylor sang songs from her debut album “Love Travels,” which had already garnered great reviews from top publications.

Says People Magazine, “Fresh and honeydew-sweet, this 21 year-old singer-songwriter comes on like a burst of springtime on her full-length debut. Her glowing pop tunes will win over fans of both Corinne Bailey Rae and Colbie Caillat.”

Supporting this hot new talent, Cole Haan opened its store for an evening’s performance by Angel Taylor. As an additional incentive, Cole Haan also offered an additional 20% off its customers’ entire purchase during the event.

The event is innovative and inventive in its own right, yet looking at history, during the 19th century; Parisian salons offer an evening of music and poetry to its patrons. Cole Haan is doing the 21st century equivalent of this elegant tradition.
