PARIS, Oct 8, 2009 / FW/ — You probably already know that Lily Allen gave a surprise performance during the Chanel show last Tuesday.
What you did not know is that during the rehearsal, the British singer wore a dress designed by Jean-Charles de Castelbajac with Karl Lagerfeld watching!
But, all’s well that ends well. Allen obviously wore a Chanel dress during her performance. Although not officially representing Chanel, Lily Allen, along with Emma Watson (of the Harry Potter fame and currently the face of Burberry) and Academy Award-winning actress Emma Thompson, (who by the way plays Professor of Divination Sibyll Trelawney, also in Harry Potter), enjoys a special relationship with the house, borrowing clothes and jewellery when she needs them and being flown in to sit in the front row at shows.
Well, this time, she actually performed, which by the way is a coup by Chanel.
Late last month, Lily Allen announced via her blog that she was “considering a career in acting following her last live music commitments.”
If Ms. Allen was serious in that announcement, then her performance at Chanel might be one of her last concerts. But, then again, Allen’s spokesperson, after the singer made the announcement last September said that Lily Allen who has tour dates booked until mid-December was not completely stepping away from music.
“She is not quitting pop music.She is not thinking about her next album right now because she is still in the middle of promoting her current record,” the spokesperson told reporters.
