PARIS, Oct 17, 2009 / FW/ — Sonia Rykiel is going high profile. Last month, the French maison announced it will be collaborating with H&M for the 2009 holiday season with a lingerie collection and for spring 2010, Nathalie Rykiel, the house’s Creative Director will design a knitwear collection for the trendy retailer.
This month, after unveiling its Spring 2010 collection here in Paris, Sonia Rykiel showed its Fall 2009 collection at Tashent Uzbekistan during the 2009 Art Week Style.uz.
Already available in stores, the Fall 2009 Sonia Rykiel collection features the maison’s iconic shirts and shirtdresses that gone 21st century Parisienne with a softer color blocking but given a harder edge by the use of black crystals. Coats are quilted but more like a duvet than the traditional quilting. Metallic sheath dresses are the de rigueur for the evening.
