DALLAS, Jan 10, 2010 / FW/ — A Project Runway alum, Kevin Christiana’s design talent was recognized even during his student days at the Fashion Institute of Technology when he was awarded the “Menswear Designer of the Year” grant.
After graduation, he honed his skills designing with Susana Monaco before launching his eponymous line in 2002, a menswear-inspired collection for women selling at high-end boutiques nationwide. Branching to denim in 2004, Kevin launched K Jeans; it was so “sexy” that Victoria’s Secret came calling and K Jeans debuted on the cover of the Fall 2006 catalog.
Armed with his design talent and determination to succeed, he submitted his portfolio to Project Runway and he became one of the contestants for Season 4. Following his appearance on Project Runway, Kevin frequently appeared on The Rachael Ray show and thus earning the moniker “Rachael Ray’s style guy.”
In 2008, he became head designer and partner in two labels – MYNT 1792 and Christiana Zinn, both of which were launched in Fall 2009.
MYNT 1792 is both a men’s and women’s line comprised of the “real-man’s jean” that will actually fit and of West-Point-meets-East-Village styles for the ladies.
Now, isn’t that “jean-ious”?
