NEW YORK, Feb 4, 2010 / FW/ — Naomi Campbell’s Fashion For Relief™ takes center stage at Bryant Park on February 12th at 7:00 PM as the spectacular charity fashion show and auction raises funds to save the lives of mothers and babies in Haiti.
American Express Cardmembers will have exclusive access to purchase tickets before the general public for $100 and $150 starting tomorrow, February 5 at 10:00 AM at www.Ticketmaster.com. All proceeds from the sale of event tickets will go to the CARE organization to raise crucial funds towards rebuilding Haiti’s healthcare system for mothers and children.
Hosted by Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York, the star-studded Naomi Campbell’s Fashion For Relief™ -Haiti NYC, 2010 event will feature actors, musicians and celebrities walking the runway in various looks created by some of fashion’s top designers and to be later auctioned online at NET-A-PORTER.
“I am deeply saddened by the recent tragedy in Haiti; so many have been killed and severely affected by the earthquake – women and children in particular are most vulnerable in disasters,” said Naomi Campbell.
“Fashion is universal, personal and touches everyone. Our aim is to use this year’s Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week catwalk to reach people and help raise crucial funds to help save the lives of women and children,” Campbell continued.
Set up four years ago to demonstrate the kind of contributions the fashion community can make, the first Fashion For Relief ™ show was held in 2005 in New York City during their fashion week, and raised more than $1million dollars for the Hurricane Katrina relief.
In 2007 the event, held in London, raised an amazing £1million for the Rotary Flood & Disaster Appeal.
In 2008, Naomi teamed up with Sarah Brown for the first time to host an unforgettable Fashion For Relief™ raising thousands for The White Ribbon Alliance and raising awareness of the charity.
Last year Fashion For Relief ™ travelled to Mumbai, India and Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania.
