PARIS, March 10, 2010/ FW/ — With the models wearing wigs styled in the famous Anna Wintour bob, it was hard not to look for the Vogue ediatrix. And though she was not physically present, her spirit was definitely there.

One of the Chinese brands that has become a mainstay during Paris Prêt-a-porter, Shiatzy Chen is gaining more fans every season, and by the look of it, has also started winning the hearts of the hard-to-please international fashion press.

Using the most luxurious materials like silk, fur, leather, combined with traditional Chinese embroidery, Shiatzy Chen produced an extraordinary effect that kept the audience (who were dead tired at the end of the day, this was the last show) interested.

Using rich red, green, blue and gold, Shiatzy Chen took a great risk since all these are Christmas colors; but she pulled it off nicely. She gamble big and won big!

A green skirt in crocodile skin was paired with a knitted blouse and cardigan; a light coat in a diffused blue and brown was cut kimono style and a Capri-length black trouser was paired with a green long-sleeved blouse with tiny embroidery on the cuffs. The coup de grâce – an Astrakhan shawl nonchalantly worn on the shoulders.

Now, whether Anna Wintour will wear any piece of this collection remains to be seen, but it is safe to say that the fashionable women of Paris liked the freshness and delicacy of Shiatzy Chen’s style.
