NEW YORK, Apr 23, 2010 / FW/ — No more pantylines and no more showing of your bellybuttons; yogawear company Bodsana has launched a capsule collection of yoga pants that sit at the natural waist and its signature Elimiline® pant with a built-in panty that extends to mid-thigh with lace trim to create a streamline, slimming look with no lines.

“The Elimiline® pants was created from a need – my need,” said Bodsana Founder Nancy Causey, co-owner of the Half Moon Yoga Barn in Millbrook, NY, saw a gaping void in the yogawear market for women of her age (62).

“Being a yoga teacher, I live in yoga pants and panty lines were a constant issue. I also have a small, yet real, handlebar problem (you know, ‘muffin top’) and I am also past wanting to show my navel. I was desperate for a stylish pant that would not hang too low,” explains Nancy.

The idea for Bodsana started when Nancy found a yoga pant that she loved because it sat at her natural waist. However, panty lines and ‘handle bars’ continued to plague her. Around the same time she discovered a pair of underwear, both expensive and delicate, that held her in and didn’t produce unsightly panty lines.

She asked a local dressmaker if the two garments could be merged into one. “The process wasn’t easy, but it was comfortable and flattering, and every time Nancy wore this pants, someone would ask her if she had lost weight. This amused her at first and then she became inspired. Wouldn’t everyone want to look as though they had lost weight while wearing their yoga pants?

All Bodsana yoga pants are made of a 14 oz. Cotton/Lycra blend (88%/12%) for added support, “they smooth out the lumps and bumps!” exclaims Nancy.

The “Riki” Elimiline® Full-length Pant retails for $70, while the “Louise” Basic Full-length Pant retails for $60. The “Maggie” Elimiline® Capri retails for $66, and the “Sherri” Basic Capri, $56. The “Chippie” Basic Skinny Pant retails for $60. All styles are currently available in brown and black.

The first Bodsana pants went into production in the beginning of 2009 and the company has built a following throughout Millbrook, NY and the neighbouring towns all through word of mouth buzz. Nancy has found that women who fall in love with the pants tend to buy 4 or 5 five pairs because they can be worn for many things other than yoga.

“At its core it’s simply a flattering pant that can be dressed up or down, and for that same reason they are great for travel as well,” explains Nancy.

The pants are now available nationwide at www.bodsana.com .
