NEW YORK, Jun 18, 2010 / FW/ — Introducing its first optical collection, Modo for Jason Wu introduces Elizabeth, Viola, Josephine, Scout and Jane.

The name were inspired by characters from literature that are representations of women of power and substance, their “backgrounds” are as eclectic and as diverse as the influences of its namesake Jason Wu who fuses modern lifestyle dressing with the old world’s romantic flair.

Overall the optical collection carries on the tradition established with the launch of the sun collection: a focus on subtle design details, matte finishes, understated branding and fashion forward yet wear-able shapes.

The materials include handmade Japanese plastic with double-brushed stainless steel details.

Jason Wu designs for the fearless, modern woman who is strong and yet not afraid to embrace her softer side. The optical styles reflect this attitude through gutsy yet feminine shapes with textured metal details such as the Viola and Jane. The deeper, larger shapes like Scout and Josephine are a bit more neutral but the muted pastels with soft matte finish add a feminine quality.

The colors include semi-translucent crystals in aquamarine, topaz, rose, olivine, noir, plum, and richly textured tortoise.
