Norisol Ferrari

DALLAS, Aug 9, 2012/ — Some fashion pundits would say that Dallas is too far south to sell fur; but contrary to that adage, Dallasites love fur. Most women, from 18 to 80 have a fur coat or fur jacket in her closet.

Others would say that it is not politically correct to wear fur. But, when was Dallas concerned about being PC? If it is, then Sue Ellen Ewing, with her fur coat would not be a very popular character, albeit she is fictional. And just to keep up with the rebooted “Dallas”, in the season finale, Sue Ellen announced her candidacy for Governor! So perhaps, our Sue Ellen has redefined the term “politically correct”, at least for the TV series.

Putting being politically correct aside, there really is a big market for fur apparel in Dallas. So, it is not surprising that New York-based fur designer Norisol Ferrari was enticed by PaperCity Magazine to hold a trunk show and informal fashion show at the posh Ritz-Carlton on August 16th and 17th.

Ms. Ferrari, who learned her trade as a fur designer in New York and in Italy, will be making a personal appearance at the Ritz-Carlton wherein she will meet and greet clients while also giving them style tips and advice in wearing fur.

Oh, did I mention that Norisol Ferrari is also an accomplished stylist? Her eponymous label is relatively new, only having been launched in 2009. But she has been in the fashion industry for 25 years during which she worked as a designer on both sides of the Atlantic and also styled some of the world’s most recognizable names and faces.
