DALLAS, Oct 15, 2013/ — On Thursday, Oct 12th in Dubai, models Naomi Campbell, Karolina Kurkova, Eva Riccobono and Afef Jnifen; Vogue Italia editor in chief Franca Sozzani; designers Donatella Versace, Roberto Cavalli, Eva Cavalli, Silvia Fendi, Riccardo Tisci, Dean and Dan Caten of Dsquared, and Philipp Plein attended the VOGUE FASHION DUBAI EXPERIENCE (VFDE) to celebrate the world’s newest fashion capital while also raising funds for the Dubai Cares charity.

Together with other guest that include Italian opera tenor Vittorio Grigolo, Italian dancer and principal dancer with the American Ballet Theatre Roberto Bolle, photographer and Emmy Award-nominated director Francesco Carrozzini, Lapo Elkann, Remo Ruffini and Jonathan Newhouse, the black tie gala raised over $1 million for Dubai Cares, the charity founded by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, to promote the primary education of children in underprivileged communities globally.

Held at THE Dubai Mall, VFDE followed the grand celebration of the global fashion industry and had 250 global brands participating highlighting their newest and representative collections. Proceeds from the sale of specially created merchandise for the event were also donated to Dubai Cares,

A highlight of Vogue Fashion Dubai Experience was the fashion show at Fashion Catwalk in The Dubai Mall, displaying the works of eight emerging regional and international designers including: Wadha Al Hajri from Qatar; Mohammed Ashi and Razan Alazzouni from Saudi Arabia; Lulwa Al Amin from Bahrain; Ituen Basi from Nigeria; Simone Rocha from Ireland; Andrea Incontri from Italy; and Esme Vie from Russia. All of the young designers were mentored by Mrs. Sozzani.

Captivating visitors to the mall for Vogue Fashion Dubai Experience was the stunning displays by over 250 international fashion brands such as Versace, Armani, Valentino, Chanel, Dior, Elie Saab, Jean Paul Gaultier, Givenchy and Dolce & Gabbana.

For the evening, Naomi Campbell wore Roberto Cavalli while Afef Jnifen donned Just Cavalli.
