PARIS, Oct 1, 2008 / FW — The Spring-Summer 2009 collection finds its inspiration in the typical sailor suit which takes on a more feminine silhouette. Taking up the old nautical motifs of the last century it transforms them to give the whole collection a more up-to-date, fresh and sophisticated look.
This is intermingled with the “Sailor Moon” manga comic-strip theme from the Japanese series of the nineties to provide the collection with a cartoon-heroin style touch which contrasts with the sophistication to pack the collection with a magical and powerful punch.
The 1980s retro touch, a time when the nautical look was the height of fashion, provides Bambi by Laura’s new summer collection with drama by striking a contrast. As regards fabrics, chiffons and silks will continue to prevail, combined with elegant cottons.
On this occasion, knitted fabrics will be used for bodies and leggings as well as for other special items in order to complete the collection.
A luxury-end label for women, created 100% in Barcelona Bambi by Laura was established in 2004 by Laura Figueras. Her garments are characterized by their sophisticated cut, but are extremely wearable thanks to their silhouettes and the use of chiffon, satin, silk and other luxury fabrics.
