Catalan Designers at Paris Fashion Week

PARIS, Oct 1, 2008 / FW / — Slated to coincide with Paris Prêt-a-porter Spring 2009 season, the Catalan Designers at Paris Fashion Week showcases ten Catalan designers namely: Bambi by Laura, Cecilia Sorensen, Gentz Suarez, Gori de Palma, El Delgado Buil, Lucia Blanco, Martin Lamothe, Oscar Leon, Txell Miras and Zazo & Brull.

An initiative of the Generalitat de Catalunya (Catalan Autonomous Government) to support independent catalan designers, the project is part of the new fashion policy that is being promoted by Ministry of Innovation, Universities and Enterprise.

This policy is based on five main objectives: internationalization, the link between creativity and industry, financial support, the organization of a fashion event in Barcelona and the support of emerging talent
