News Bits: Custo Barcelona, Francisco van Benthum, Smalto, Hermes

custo_growingDALLAS, Jan 29, 2010 / FW/ — Spanish label CUSTO BARCELONA just launched a new children’s line CUSTO GROWING. The collection, designed for boys and girls of 4 to 14 years, includes colorful and fantastical clothing and accessories.

It is every bit as bold and colorful as the adult line, but built to withstand the boundless energy and unique minds of children. Plus, all garments are washing machine friendly, including footwear and the environmentally friendly leather coats.

FRANCISCO VAN BENTHUM is currently developing 3 capsule collections alongside: a range of suits and shirts under the name VAN BENTHUM, a fashion forward collection named FVB and a footwear collection. These collections were presented at showroom Tent during Paris Menswear week.

At SMALTO, creative director Youn Chong Bak is developing a women’s wardrobe and a junior boy line.

HERMES is opening its first free-standing men’s store in New York in February, just in time for New York Fashion Week.
