LOS ANGELES, Mar 16, 2010 / FW/ — Andy Garcia and Juliana Marguiles are the acting bigwigs and headliners while Dominik Garcia-Lorido (Andy Garcia’s daughter) and Ezra Miller prove that the next generation is living up to their potential, “City Island” has the making of a sleeper hit that might even have the critics talking.

Meet the Rizzos, a dysfunctional family living in the Bronx’s City Island, New York City’s only fishing village.

Premiered at the 2009 Film Festival, City Island stars Andy Garcia as Vince Rizzo, a Corrections Officer who had secret dreams of being an actor. He tells wife Joyce (Juliana Marguiles) that he’s playing poker when he sneaks off to his weekly acting classes. Joyce, who has not enjoyed intimacy with her husband for a year believes that poker night spells A-F-F-A-I-R.

And just to make things complicated, Vince’s daughter Vivian (Dominik Garcia-Lorido) works as a stripper when she’s supposed to be in college, while young Vinnie Jr (Ezra Miller) has a secret sexual fetish that involves a 24-hour webcam and the family’s 300-pound neighbor.

An indie film at its best, director Raymond De Fellita brings to the audience a comedy / drama that is unusual and not your usual comedic fare.

City Island opens in New York and Los Angeles on March 19th.
